Abstract
This article provides an insight into how sustainable development can be realized within the health sector. This is based on our experiences from the preparation of a master's thesis: A case study of the environmental and economic sustainability of using remanufactured ultrasound catheters. which explored the possibility of reducing the environmental impact of the health sector by introducing the reprocessing of medical disposable equipment. The authors outline how the problem based learning environment at Aalborg University contributes to successful projects and how Sustainable Design Engineers contribute to creating meaningful, sustainable change within the health sector, in collaboration with healthcare professionals."
