Abstract

The chapter makes a brief review of the literature on business models and ecosystems regarding their reconfiguration in relation to decoupling and resilience as well as a concise overview of the contents of the other 15 chapters of the book. A main part of the chapter is devoted to business model reconfiguration. In it, the business model alterations have been analysed as presented in the existing literature. Another key issue in the chapter is the evaluation on the global decoupling, resilience and change in general and vis-à-vis business models and ecosystems as disrupted by critical jolts. Research publications in business model resilience has also grown significantly in the last couple of years in relation to recent significant critical jolts. Based on the conducted overview of literature, extant knowledge and current trends, gaps have been identified the filling in of which is aimed by the chapters of this book.
