Postdoctoral researcher Nicklas Vinter from Aalborg University states that "we are dealing with a growing disease that is associated with serious complications, and it will pose a significant challenge to health services." The study also reveals that heart failure is the most common complication of atrial fibrillation, with 2 out of 5 patients developing it.
